Several area residents were charged with a felony after a traffic stop uncovered were illegal drugs were being sold at earlier this week in Lafayette County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on Tuesday, June 26, Higginsville Police officers conducted a traffic stop which the driver, 24-year-old Opal Fizer, of Higginsville, reportedly told the officers she was in possession of two grams of methamphetamine. The officers also were told of the location in which Fizer obtained the narcotic.
The officers then responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Fairground Avenue, where they spoke the occupant, 28-year-old Jeremy Crocker, as well as 21-year-old Annie Fox, of Bates City. The officers determined that Fox sold the illegal drug from the apartment, where five additional grams of methamphetamine and a loaded syringe were found.
Online court documents say Fizer and Fox each were charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, with Fox also being charged with a drug-related misdemeanor. Crocker was charged with a Class E Felony for Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance. Bond for each Fox and Crocker was set at $25,000 cash or surety. Bond has not yet been set for Fizer.
Each of the defendants initial hearings at Lafayette County Circuit Court are pending.
