A resident of Olathe, Kansas, suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Cooper County on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway patrol, the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 64-year-old Richard Hopewell, of Olathe, was stopped due to traffic congestion and reportedly was struck in the rear by an eastbound Peterbilt, driven by 69-year-old James Parker, of Rockfield, KY. After impact, Hopewell’s vehicle struck a concrete barrier.
Hopewell reportedly was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. on I-70 at the Missouri River Bridge.
