Three area residents sustained injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Benton County on Friday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 15-year-old Amanda Cook, of Smithton, reportedly failed to yield as she was making a left turn in her eastbound vehicle to a westbound vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Sara Keuper, of Lincoln.
While each driver suffered moderate injuries, a passenger in Cook’s vehicle, 42-year-old Angela Cook, of Smithton, was seriously injured and was transported by Cole Camp E.M.S. to Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia for treatment. Keuper reportedly was transported by private vehicle to Bothwell for treatment, while Amanda Cook was transported by private vehicle to seek medical treatment.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on Missouri Highway 52, one-half mile east of Centerline Avenue.
