Three ordinances involving contracts between the Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works and different entities were on the agenda to be discussed by the Marshall City Council at its most-recent meeting.
The first involves the rebuilding of a substation, according to MMU General Manager Kyle Gibbs.
Gibbs continued, saying it will add a new transformer. He said the two will work together until the older transformer is no longer viable.
Gibbs also explained the second proposed ordinance is a contract with Central Electric Power Cooperative.
Another ordinance Gibbs said is a contract extension between the city, BPW and Utility Safety & Design, Inc., for maintaining two gas lines. For the first time since the inception of the contract, the company has requested a raise in its monthly fee from $2,200 to $2,420 for the next three years.
The council heard the first reading of each ordinance, and tabled the second reading until a future meeting.
