A probable-cause statement says Lexington Police officers responded to a report of a firework turned into an explosive device at an apartment in the 800 block of South 21st Street on July 5. The victim stated he was on a deck overlooking a parking lot when he notice an SUV pull up and a person threw an object into the bed of his truck and the object exploded. The victim added the explosion caused a tarp to catch on fire which he extinguish. The victim said the SUV drove away, but identified the driver as 17-year-old Brandon Holloway.

Holloway was formally arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty on July 6, and his cause was continued for a case-hearing at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
