Two out-of-state residents are facing a drug-related felony charge after authorities allegedly found multiple THC vapor cartridges and several pounds of marijuana in their vehicle after a traffic stop on I-70 in Cooper County on June 14.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities say they found 103 THC vapor cartridges and approximately 12 pounds of marijuana during the probable-cause search. The driver– 35-year-old Kevin Walter Wilkinson Jr., of Nashville– reportedly claimed knowledge and ownership of all of the contraband. The passenger– 53-year-old Detonica Benise Wilkinson, of Atlanta– claimed knowledge and ownership of four THC cartridges located in her purse.
According to online court documents, warrants have been issued and each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond for each has been fixed at $20,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
