In November, voters in the town of Carrollton will make a decision on a proposed increase in their general sales tax regarding funding a new aquatic center.
According to Administrative Assistant Terry Bell, during the meeting of the Town Council on Monday, July 16, it approved putting a question on the ballot. She said the question will read as follows:
Bell said the current aquatic center has some issues with leaks. It can be renovated, but there is a catch.
Bell said if residents pass the increase in the sales tax, then the city will discuss and figure out where the new pool will be placed to try to promote growth in the town.
Bell said the current aquatic center, in the shape it’s in now, likely will not open next year. She said no major renovations have taken place on the structure that is now more than three decades old.
