At its meeting on July 2, the Marshall City Council approved the first readings of three ordinances involving contracts between the city, the MMU Board of Public Works and three general contractors.
The council tabled the second reading of the proposals at that time and considered them again during its meeting on Monday, July 16.
MMU General Manager Kyle Gibbs explained the first is for an agreement with Central Electric Power Cooperative.

Gibbs said the second involves a second 161kV tie.

Gibbs said this is the first time Utility, Safety & Design, Inc., has asked for an increase in the monthly fee since the contract’s inception in 2004.
The council OK’d the second readings, giving the approval to the contracts.
