In addition to approving ballot language for a sales-tax question to be put before the town’s voters in November, the Carrollton Town Council took other actions during its meeting this week.
Administrative Assistant Terry Bell said one involves the issuance of waterworks system revenue bonds.
Bell said the council also made a decision on which bid for salt to accept.
As for the sales-tax issue, if passed by voters, proceeds from the three-quarters-of-a-cent sales tax will fund the construction and maintaining of a new aquatic center. The current aquatic center is more than 30 years old and has some problems with leaks. In its current condition, Bell said the current aquatic center likely will not open next year.
