A Kansas City man is facing a felony charge after an alleged domestic assault incident earlier this week in Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says a female victim spoke with Marshall Police officers regarding death threats made to her by 36-year-old Kevin Allen Murray on July 16. The victim stated Murray allegedly hit her with a closed fist in the arm and leg areas during an argument, where Murray brandished a knife and threaten to kill her. The victim added she was cornered in a bedroom, but eventually escaped due to Murray reportedly stabbing himself in the leg. Officers recovered a small knife in the bedroom.
Murray reportedly would not provide a statement while in custody.
Online court documents say Murray has been charged with a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon-Exhibiting and a misdemeanor for domestic assault. Bond was set at $15,000 cash only.
Murray’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court is pending.
