A Sedalia man is facing two felony charges for allegedly assaulting another man with a garden tool recently in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says Pettis County deputies were dispatched to a report of an alleged assault which occurred at a residence in the 2600 block of Martha Lane on July 15. The victim stated 35-year-old Robert Zegars allegedly attacked him with a garden hoe during an argument. The victim added he was hit in the right forearm with the metal end of the tool while trying to block his head area. The deputies noticed the victim sustained a two-inch cut on his right forearm.
Deputies spoke with Zegars who claimed he was provoked by the victim while he was conducting yard work. Zegars reportedly stated the victim would stare at him every time he was doing yard work.
