The Missouri Public Service Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing regarding KCP&L electric rate increases in Pettis County on Tuesday, July 31.
According to a news release, on January 30, 2018, KCP&L and its Greater Missouri Operations (GMO) company filed electric rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission. KCP&L states it is seeking to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $16.4 million, with GMO seeking an increase of approximately $19.3 million. According to KCP&L, the average residential customer would see an electric rates increase of approximately $3 a month, and GMO customers would see an increase of approximately $2 a month.
KCP&L and GMO serve customers in the KMMO listening area which includes the counties of Benton, Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Pettis, Randolph, Ray and Saline.
The public hearing is scheduled to begin at noon at the Liberty Park Convention Hall at 1500 West 3rd Street in Sedalia.
