Saline County Treasurer Marty Smith was on hand at the county commission meeting on Tuesday, July 24, and gave an update on the County-Aid Road Trust (C.A.R.T.) Tax money received for July.

In other news from the meeting, Clerk Debbie Russell said testing of the voting machines is scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, in her office. The test is open to the public.
Russell also said her office will be open special hours– from 8 a.m. to noon– on Saturday, August 4, for absentee voting. Registered voters also can cast their ballots via absentee during her office’s regular business hours.
Absentee voting for the Primary Election will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Monday, August 6. All polling places will be open for voting from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7.
