During the Marshall City Council meeting on Monday, August 6, the council approved the appointment of a new council person.
Mayor Mark Gooden asked for the approval of Kathy Vasquez (on left in picture).

Council members approved the appointment unanimously.
City Clerk Julie Lewis administered the Oath of Office.

Vasquez will be taking over for Rudy Reyes who had to resign his post as per protocol after he moved out of his ward. His resignation was effective on June 30. Vasquez will serve out the remainder of his term, which will expire in April 2020.
