A Marshall man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly assaulted a woman on Thursday, August 9.
According to a probable-cause statement, Marshall Police officers arrived on the scene and noted the woman to be visibly shaken. She said Jared Lee Clay had grabbed her, placed his arm around her neck and pushed her down. She also alleges that Clay shoved her down and she hit her head on the ground when she tried to get between Clay and the room where their 9-month-old son was sleeping. The officer noted the woman to have visible marks on the front of her neck and a large red area on her cheek.
According to online court documents, Clay has been charged with a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash only.
Clay was arraigned on Friday, August 10, and his cause has been continued for a counsel-status hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, at Saline County Circuit Court.
