An Odessa man has been charged with felonies after trying to eluding law enforcement during a high-speed chase recently in Lafayette County.
A probable cause statement says Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling almost 40 miles per hour over the speed limit on Missouri Highway 131 on August 12.
The suspect failed to stop and a chase ensued, where the suspect reportedly was traveling at 95 miles per hour at one point. The vehicle pursuit ended as the suspect exited his vehicle near a residence in the 1900 block of Lakeview South. Deputies then began a foot pursuit and eventually apprehended the suspect after he was found outside a residence near a wooded area.
