The Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Marshall announced his decision to step down from his position to accept another job opportunity on Wednesday, August 15.
According to a news release, Marshall Park Board President Mike Lamberson said Jeff Stubblefield has notified the board of his resignation and his intention to accept the same position for the City of Maryville.
Lamberson stated “The work that Jeff has done to make our park a destination for individuals wanting a wide variety of park activities has brought pride in our community and increased the number of individuals who spend their resources in Marshall. The work he has done with the programs, special events and the overall quality of the park system is to be commended. During his tenure, the park developed a regional disc golf course that is recognized across the state, renovation to Guthrie and Peyton playgrounds, construction and renovations of community basketball courts, renovation to the Sister of Liberty, completed phase one of the walking trails, completed phase one of the Lyons Bowl ball fields renovations, and oversaw constant improvement to the park. His tireless efforts and relationship with the community has been instrumental in our success. Jeff will be long remembered for his accomplishments”.
Stubblefield has been Marshall’s Park Director for 14 years and his resignation will be effective September 6, 2018. The Park Board will begin a regional search for his replacement immediately.
