With the addition of the pool bond, which was approved by voters in April, Sweet Springs property owners will be paying a higher tax rate.
City Clerk Michelle Fuehring explains what happened at the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen meeting on Monday, August 13.

That tax rate is per $100 of assessed valuation on real and personal property.
Aldermen also approved a bid for liability and property insurance for all property owned by the city.

In other business, aldermen gave their approval for two shooting events to be held in the park. The “No Child Left Indoors” Quail Forever Kids Shoot is set for Sunday, September 16, with a rain date of Sunday, September 23. And the trap turkey shoot- a fundraiser for the chamber of commerce- is scheduled for Saturday, September 29.
