A Gainesville, Florida, resident has been charged with a drug-related felony after a traffic stop on Monday, August 20, on I-70 in Cooper County.
A probable-cause statement says authorities- with the help of a K-9- found a cache of 62 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle and arrested 40-year-old Derek James Eaton.
According to online court documents, Eaton has been charged with a Class E Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana and a driving-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $5,000 cash and $50,000 surety.
Eaton was scheduled to appear for a hearing on Tuesday, August 21, at Cooper County Circuit Court. No other information is available at this time.
