The Boone’s Lick State Historic Site is scheduled to hold its annual folk festival in Howard County on Monday, September 3.
According to a news release, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the festival will be held at the historic site which is located on Missouri Highway 187 near Boonsboro.
Sponsored by Missouri State Parks and the Boonslick Area Tourism Council, the festival is scheduled to feature a variety of historic crafters who will be giving demonstrations of 19th century crafts, as well as a variety of activities for children and music from the time period will be performed. Visitors can also tour the salt springs and learn the importance of salt mining in the 19th century.
