The Marshall School Board opened its meeting on Tuesday, August 21, with a public hearing on the proposed tax rate.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher said with the exception of a couple of years in the past 10, the assessed valuation of property within the district’s boundaries has increased by some $3 million per year.

Dr. Maher said the tax rate could be slightly higher.

During the regular meeting, the board approved Dr. Maher’s recommendation to keep the tax-levy rate at $3.12 per $100 of assessed valuation on real and personal property.
