After a traffic stop on I-70 in Cooper County on August 2, authorities- with the help of a K-9- uncovered more than 30 pounds of marijuana in suitcases in the trunk of the vehicle, and a resident of Redmond, Oregon, faces a felony charge.
According to a probable-cause statement, the Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper had to cut the locks off the suitcases because the owner of the bags said he lost the keys. Authorities say inside the luggage were six large bags and one small bag of marijuana, weighing a total of approximately 34 pounds. The trooper also reportedly found some other drug-related items.
Online court documents say a criminal summons has been issued and Ross Elliott Low, a passenger in the vehicle who reportedly told authorities the drug-related items were his and was arrested, has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana and two drug-related misdemeanors.
Low’s arraignment hearing is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
