A traffic study has begun in Saline County.
At the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, August 23, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said a contract has been signed to keep a project at Marshall Junction moving forward.
This traffic study is necessary in order to possibly get a crossover moved further south on U.S. Highway 65 by some 1,000 feet, where the median is wider.
Saline County voters approved a half-cent sales-tax measure for economic development throughout the county in April. Collection of the tax will begin on October 1, 2018, and sunset on December 31, 2038. Part of the proceeds generated will go to fund getting water piped to the south side of I-70 to attract businesses to the area, and this is part of that project.
