Two area residents died as result of a two-vehicle head-on traffic crash in Livingston County on Thursday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Nicholas Lawson, of Chillicothe, reportedly crossed the center line of the roadway and struck a southbound vehicle, driven by 49-year-old Orville Cooper, of Bosworth.
Lawson, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Chillicothe ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased, and Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene just before 8 p.m.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65, four miles south of Chillicothe.
