Traffic crashes claimed fives lives on Missouri roadways, and no drownings were reported during the 2018 Labor Day Holiday counting period.
According to a release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, during the counting period of 6 p.m. on Friday, August 31, through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 3, the patrol investigated 258 traffic crashes, which included 92 injuries and the five fatalities. Troopers also arrested 97 people for driving while intoxicated.
Of the five traffic-crash fatalities investigated by the Patrol, three occurred in the Troop G, Willow Springs area, and two in the Troop D, Springfield area.
Marine operations troopers investigated nine boating crashes, which included three injuries, as well as arrested 15 individuals for boating while intoxicated.
