A Jefferson City resident who allegedly wielded a knife and injured another person on Monday, September 3, has been charged with multiple felonies in Cooper County.
A probable-cause statement says one of three alleged victims reported the man cut her on her ring finger so deep she would have to go to the hospital. Another person told authorities the accused came out of a bedroom and put a knife to his throat and then fled the scene on foot. The third alleged victim said the man punched her in the face and took her phone to prevent her from calling for help.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Javontay Malik Knight has been charged with a Class A Felony for Domestic Assault in the First Degree; a Class D Felony for Kidnapping in the Second Degree; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action; and two misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $75,000 cash or surety.
Knight’s initial hearing at Cooper County Circuit Court is pending.
