A Sedalia man is facing multiple felony charges as a result of what allegedly was found by authorities during the execution of a “no-knock” search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of East 2nd Street on Tuesday, September 4.
According to a post on the Sedalia Police Department’s Facebook page, authorities found methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and four firearms- one of which was reported as stolen. Additional evidence indicates methamphetamine was being distributed at the residence. The resident was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
According to online court documents, 26-year-old Timothy Paul Cota has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid; Class D Felonies for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; and a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Possession of a Weapon and a Felony Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $90,000 cash or surety.
Cota’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
