A felony charge has been filed against a Sedalia man who allegedly made a threat against a judge.
According to a probable-cause statement, on Wednesday, September 5, a person called authorities and told them that Dennis Gene Ware Jr. had just left in a vehicle from the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue and was headed to the courthouse to kill (Circuit Court) Judge (Jeff) Mittelhauser.
Law enforcement took Ware into custody once he stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Lafayette and 7th Streets.
According to online court documents, Ware has been charged with a Class E Felony for Making a Terroristic Threat in the Second Degree. Bond has been set at $3,500 cash or surety.
Ware’s arraignment hearing is scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 7, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
