A Fulton man has been charged with a felony for an alleged burglary incident in Saline County on Thursday, September 6.
According to a probable-cause statement, at 4:40 a.m., Marshall Police officers were dispatched to a residence on South Lincoln Avenue after Saline County 9-1-1 received a report of a male subject who reportedly broke into the home and was having symptoms of a drug overdose.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the male subject, 35-year-old Curtis Allen Workcuff, who was noticed to be highly agitated, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. Workcuff reportedly told the officers people were chasing him and he was trying to get away. Reportedly, officers overheard Workcuff say “I kicked in the door to steal their television”. Workcuff reportedly was transported for medical attention after he told ambulance personnel he injected himself with a mixture of methamphetamine and bleach in an attempt to harm himself.
Online court documents say Workcuff has been charged with a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree and a misdemeanor for property damage. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash only.
Workcuff appeared in custody via video for his arraignment hearing on Friday, September 7, and his cause was continued with a counsel-status hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, at Saline County Circuit Court.
