Two Carrollton residents were killed in a rollover traffic crash in Carroll County on December 23, 2017, and the Carrollton resident who was driving the vehicle who has been charged with two counts of a felony has had his court date this week postponed.
The original report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the eastbound vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Blake Lee Wilson, of Carrollton, reportedly ran off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and a tree and overturned on Route CC, east of County Road 261 in Carroll County just after 12:30 a.m. Two passengers were ejected out of the vehicle and were pronounced deceased at the scene. Wilson suffered serious injuries and another passenger, 22-year-old Zachary Warner, sustained minor injuries.
A probable-cause statement says an investigation revealed the vehicle’s speedometer was stuck between 115 and 120 mph and the tachometer stuck at approximately 4,000 RPMs. Further investigation reportedly revealed Wilson tested positive for alcohol during a preliminary breath test at the hospital.
According to online court documents Wilson has been charged with two counts of a Class E Felony for Involuntary Manslaughter in the Second Degree.
Wilson’s next hearing was set to be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12. His cause, however, has been continued for a hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, at Carroll County Circuit Court.
