Five area teens suffered minor injuries in a traffic crash in Livingston County on Sunday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 16-year-old Mercedez Norris, of Hale, reportedly was traveling at a high rate of speed, crested a levy, went airborne, struck the ground, continued over a second levy, skidded off the south side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
The other teens injured- from Brookfield and Chillicothe- ranged in ages from 13 through 17. All of the injured persons reportedly were transported by private vehicles to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment.
The crash happened at about 2:10 p.m. on Livingston 236, one mile west of Chillicothe.
