A Chariton County resident was one of four persons injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Wright County on Monday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 42-year-old Tanya Emery, of Norwood, stopped for an animal in the roadway and reportedly was struck by another southbound vehicle, driven by 39-year-old Jonathan Volner, of Hartville.
Volner and a passenger in his vehicle- 38-year-old Darrel Breshears, of Hartville- each sustained moderate injuries; and another passenger, 71-year-old Lauren Littlefield, of Salisbury, suffered minor injuries. While Emery reportedly was not injured, a passenger in her vehicle, 68-year-old Ida Lee, of Mountain Grove, suffered moderate injuries. The injured persons reportedly were transported by ambulances to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The crash happened at about 3 p.m. on Highway 5, five miles north of Hartville.
