Bond for a Camden resident, who allegedly attempted to hit a couple of law-enforcement officers with a motorcycle during a high-speed pursuit in Ray County and has been charged with felonies, has been set at $100,000 cash only.
A probable-cause statement says a high-speed chase ensued after a Ray County deputy attempted to make a traffic stop of a Kawasaki on Tuesday, September 11. The chase continued through Camden, and the suspect turned the bike toward two different deputies, who had to scurry onto and into their vehicles to avoid being hit. The motorcycle reportedly reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour during the chase, which eventually ended in Clay County. But the suspect fled on foot. After several commands for him to stop and he refused, a Taser was deployed. Eventually the man had to be tackled by a deputy, and after a scuffle, he was taken into custody. The suspect told authorities he was in possession of some drug-related items, and they were confiscated.
