The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen considered approval of a revamped bid involving tree removal and trimming at city park during its meeting on Monday, September 10.
City Clerk Michelle Fuehring said the revised bid was received from Rick Suhr, of Concordia.
In other news, Fuehring said aldermen approved a Boy Scouts Pack 44 camp out to be held in the park tentatively for April 26-28 or May 3-5, 2019; OK’d some street closures downtown to accommodate an Optimist Club Trunk or Treat/Halloween costume contest on October 20, with the costume contest beginning at 2:30 p.m.; and approved the After-Prom Committee to hold its annual 5K run– “The Zombie Run”– on October 27, with the exact time still to be determined.
Also, Fuehring said the Saline County Health Department will be offering flu shots to residents from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, at city hall. The cost is $30 for individuals between 12 and 64 years of age; and $50 for those who are 65 and older. She said most major medical and Medicare insurance plans are accepted.
