Two area first responders have been deployed to South Carolina to help during Hurricane Florence.
Lexington Fire Chief Brad Weber fills in some of the details how personnel from Lexington Fire and Rescue were sent.

Weber said there were 10 first responders who volunteered for the duty. He said fire fighter/paramedic Mark Little and fire fighter/EMT Ed Truitt left Lexington at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, and have arrived in South Carolina.

Weber said, to his knowledge, Lexington is the only fire department in the area that has been summoned to send personnel.
Weber said there is no way to know how long the two will be deployed. He said if it gets into the two-week range of time, a lot of times they will request a crew to replace the crew that is there now.
