Authorities in an area county investigated after they received a call about a possible plane crash on Thursday, September 13.
According to a post on the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, at about 3:53 p.m. it was informed about a call received from the FAA reporting a possible aircraft down seven to 10 miles southwest of Chillicothe, and the pilot was possibly injured.
After an hour-long search that spanned a wide area- including near Avalon and near Ludlow- at 5:02 p.m., the pilot, who reportedly was not injured, was located a few miles southeast of Dawn. The pilot is from the state of Wisconsin.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reportedly is investigating the crash and the FAA reportedly also will be investigating.
Staff from several agencies, on the ground and in the air- as well as some area residents- aided in the search.
