The Sweet Springs School Board held a discussion about this years senior class trip destination during its meeting on Thursday, September 13.
According to the minutes from the meeting, Senior Class Representative Garrett Sims said the class requested to take a trip to Tampa, FL, and estimated the trip would cost $1,000 per person. Sims said there is about 20-23 students interested in going on the trip along with four sponsors. The board then approved the request for the senior class trip destination.
In other business, a yearly sports agreement with the Malta Bend School District was up for renewal, but Malta Bend requested to add junior high basketball to this years agreement. The board approved the sports agreement for this year which included the addition of junior high basketball.
Also during the meeting, Superintendent Lori Price said the district received a generous memorial donation from the Darrin Woodall Family to be used for athletics. Price added the donation will help the athletic department purchase a couple of sideline benches for football which will honor the memory of Darrin Woodall.
