A Brookfield man was killed in a traffic accident involving farm machinery in Carroll County on Saturday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as a westbound Toyota, driven by 37-year-old Bryan Tebbenkamp, of Holden, crested a hill and reportedly struck an unoccupied stalled westbound tractor and a pedestrian, 68-year-old John Burns, of Brookfield, and his 2015 Ford, which was unoccupied. The farm tractor then struck another pedestrian, 42-year-old Brian Hale, of Carrollton.
Burns reportedly was transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by a doctor at 10:43 p.m. Hale was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Tebbenkamp reportedly was not injured.
The accident happened at about 8:10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 24, one-tenth of a mile east of County Road 311.
