Two Sedalia residents sustained injuries in a rollover traffic crash in Benton County on Monday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 22-year-old David Matthews, reportedly traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and a road sign, went airborne, traveled over an intersecting roadway, impacted the ground, overturned and came to rest on its wheels.
Matthews sustained minor injuries and 19-year-old Lucio Vasquez, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained moderate injuries– neither of whom reportedly was wearing a seat belt. They were transported by Warsaw-Lincoln E.M.S. to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia for treatment.
The crash happened at about 2:10 a.m. on Missouri Highway 83 at Branch Avenue.
