The Slater City Council discussed a festival scheduled to begin this week and the city sign during its meeting on Tuesday, September 18.
Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri said the Slater Fall Festival begins this week which generates a lot of excitement for children.

Allegri also said this year’s festival is being produced by a different carnival company which will add to the excitement.
In other business, Allegri details some of the options available to replace the current city sign which is broke and the warranty to fix it being expired.

The council discussed the various options, but decided to table a decision on purchasing the important city sign to see if there is a more cost-effective option.
