A Lebanon, Mo., resident suffered serious injuries in an accident involving two vessels on a lake in Camden County on Saturday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as two boats were approaching each other head-on, and both drivers turned the vessels in the same direction. A 2005 Lund headed downstream, driven by 53-year-old Timothy Cox, of Lake St. Louis, reportedly went over the top of a 2005 Landau Utility Boat, driven by 62-year-old Robert Coffey.
While Cox reportedly was not injured, Coffey was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment.
The accident happened at 8:40 a.m. at the 14.9 mile marker of the Big Niangua Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.
