Bernard “Barney” Lee Baragary, age 85, of Boonville, died on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, at First Christian Church in Boonville. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Billingsville.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7:30, with an open meeting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday October 3 at Howard Funeral Home in Boonville.

Barney was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Frances Baragary, an infant brother, William, sisters Mary Ann and Geraldine, and a brother, Leo. He is survived by one brother, Jody Baragary, of Tonganoxie, Kansas.

Barney is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Janice Baragary, of the home, and three children, Rita (Larry) Sanders, of Boonville, Denise (Steve) Shelley, of Lansing, Kansas, and Don (Joy) Baragary, of Boonville. Surviving grandchildren are John (Tara) Sanders, of Edgerton, Kansas, Kelly (Ryan) Smith, of Boonville, Brandon (Shaquanda) Shelley, of Lansing, Kansas, Dale (Jamee) Sanders, of Boonville, Bryan (Afton) Shelley, of Piper, KS, Chance (Mary Catherine) Baragary, of Festus, and Whitney (Adam) Pederson, of Storm Lake, Iowa. Barney is survived by 19 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
