A Jefferson City man is facing felony charges for allegedly stealing another person’s vehicle in Chariton County.
According to a probable-cause statement, a Rothville woman reportedly allowed a man to test drive a vehicle she had for sale on September 20. The man was supposed to return the vehicle by 3:30 p.m. that day but never showed up. By the woman’s description of the vehicle, authorities located it. The woman identified the truck and the suspect by looking at photographs.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Larry Brittian, who was born in 1959, has been charged with Class D Felonies for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and Stealing a Motor Vehicle; and a tampering misdemeanor. Bond has been fixed at $5,000 cash only.
Brittian’s initial hearing at Chariton County Circuit Court is pending.
