The Saline County Commission discussed a meeting held recent regarding energy-saving options for the county jail facility during it meeting on Thursday, October 4.
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said the meeting was held to see what kind of energy-efficient options are available at the Saline County Jail.
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthery Jr. said the meeting very informational, but the cost of installing soler panels would not be cost effective due to a high price range and the life span of the panels. Guthery added different energy-saving options are being looked at.
In other business, Clerk Debbie Russell gave an update on November Election regarding registration and the need for volunteers.
Again, the last day to register for the November Election is by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10.
