Two Lexington residents have been charged with felonies for allegedly knowingly unlawfully entering an inhabitable structure and assaulting its resident in Ray County on October 6.
According to a probable-cause statement, 21-year-old Dustin Lee Galleher and 24-year-old Jamie Lea Grindstaff are alleged to have committed the acts at an apartment on West 9th Street in Henrietta. The woman who lives in the apartment was transported to a hospital for treatment after she says she was pushed down and held down by Galleher and was struck in the face with a closed fist by Grindstaff several times. The alleged victim reportedly swung a wooden club and struck Grindstaff on the side of her head at some point during the assault.
According to online court documents, warrants have been issued and Galleher and Grindstaff each has been charged with a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree and a Class E Felony for Assault in the Third Degree. Bond for either of the accused has not been set yet.
An initial hearing for each of the accused at Ray County Circuit Court is pending.
