A 19-year-old Sweet Springs resident who has been charged with a sex-related felony involving a juvenile is due in court on Monday, October 22.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities believe that sometime in November 2017, Kurtis A.G. Walden went into a basement of a residence with a 13-year-old female, advised her to remove her clothes and proceeded to have sex with her.
Online court documents say Walden has been charged with an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Rape or Attempted Statutory Rape with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old– Aggravated Sexual Offense.
On August 22, Walden appeared in custody and waived his preliminary hearing, pleaded not guilty and his case was bound over to Division 4 of Circuit Court. He is due for a plea/trial-setting hearing at 11 a.m. at Saline County Circuit Court.
