A Slater teen has been charged with a felony for his alleged involvement in causing harm to an animal recently in Saline County.
According to a release from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, on October 16, deputies investigated a report of animal abuse regarding a female pit bull who suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was found alive in the area of Highway 240 and Ben Garth Road. Slater animal shelter representatives reportedly had found the wounded dog on October 9, and the animal was then sent to a pet rescue organization for additional treatment on October 12.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and 18-year-old Harley William Mobley has been charged with a Class E Felony for Animal Abuse. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash only.
Mobley’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
