An Anna, Illinois, resident has been charged with a drug-related felony for allegedly being in possession of a rather large cache of a controlled substance after a traffic stop in Cooper County on Tuesday, October 23.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities say they uncovered two large duffel bags, which contained vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, weighing approximately 80 pounds. The driver, Chad Christopher Davis, reportedly denied having any knowledge of the marijuana, but he was arrested.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Davis, who was born in 1987, has been charged with a Class C Felony for Trafficking Drugs in the Second Degree and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Davis’ initial hearing at Cooper County Circuit Court is pending.
