La Monte voters in Pettis County will have a tax-related yes-or-no question to vote on during the election on Tuesday, November 6.
The real ballot language for the City of La Monte Question 1 is:
Shall the City of La Monte impose a local use tax at the same rate as the total local sales-tax rate, currently two percent; provided that the local sales-tax rate is reduced or raised by voter approval, the local use tax shall be reduced or raised by the same action? A use-tax return shall not be filed by persons whose purchases from out-of-state vendors do not- in total- exceed $2,000 in any calendar year.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
