It was a record-setting night for the Missouri Valley College wrestlers on Halloween.
The MVC wrestlers spent their evening collecting food donations in the Marshall community in the program’s annual “Kans 4 Kids” donation drive. The team set a new record for items received, totaling 2,475 donated items.
The team originally had a goal of collecting 2,000 items. After collecting the donated goods, the team met at Northwest Elementary School to count and organize what was donated. The items will go to needy families in the community over the upcoming holidays.
Men’s Wrestling Head Coach Mike Machholz said: “We are very gracious and thankful for all the support this donation drive receives throughout Marshall each year. We have collected nearly 20,000 items since we started this program, and it’s all due to the community’s generosity.”
